Terms and Conditions for Hertz Competitions Prize Competitions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in prize competitions ("Competitions") operated by Hertz Competitions, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 14126359  and registered office at 21 Alexander Road, St Albans, Herts, England, AL2 1HS.

By entering a Competition, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not enter.

1. Eligibility

   • Competitions are open to UK residents aged 18 or over only (excluding Northern Ireland for certain formats if applicable).

   • Employees, officers, directors of Hertz Competitions, their immediate families, agents, or anyone professionally connected with the Competition are not eligible.

   • To enter, you must correctly answer the skill-based multiple-choice question provided. Incorrect answers disqualify you from that Competition. No retries are permitted.

   • You must also confirm you are 18+ and a UK resident via the checkbox.

   • We reserve the right to verify eligibility and disqualify any entrant who breaches these Terms or acts fraudulently.

2. How to Enter

   • Entry is via our website only.

   • Answer the skill question correctly, confirm age/residency, then purchase entries (each entry costs [e.g., £X], with options for multiple).

   • Entries are limited per person/product as stated on the page.

   • The skill question requires genuine skill, judgment, or knowledge sufficient to deter or prevent a significant proportion of potential entrants (in line with Gambling Act 2005 s.14(5)).

   • Competitions open and close as stated on the product page. Late entries are void.

   • No responsibility for lost, delayed, or corrupted entries.

3. The Competitions

   • These are prize competitions under the Gambling Act 2005, requiring skill to qualify. Winners are selected randomly from qualified entrants (those who answered correctly).

   • No gambling licence is required as they meet the skill test and do not constitute lotteries.

   • Prizes are as described on the Competition page (no cash alternative unless stated).

   • Prizes are non-transferable; we reserve the right to substitute similar prizes of equal/greater value.

4. Winner Selection and Notification

   • Winners drawn randomly (using independent verifiable tool, e.g., random.org) from qualified entrants.

   • Notified by email/phone within 7 days of closing.

   • Winners must respond within 14 days to claim. Unclaimed prizes redrawn.

   • Winner's first name and county may be published on our site/social media for transparency (you consent by entering; object by contacting us).

   • Decisions are final; no correspondence.

5. Prizes and Delivery

   • Prizes delivered within 28 days of claim verification.

   • Winners responsible for taxes, insurance, or additional costs (prizes may be taxable income – consult advisor).

   • We are not liable for prize defects after delivery.

6. Liability

   • To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for loss/damage arising from entry or prize use.

   • We are not responsible for technical failures affecting entries.

7. Data Protection

   • See our Privacy Policy for how we process personal data.

8. General

   • We may cancel/suspend Competitions if necessary (refunds issued).

   • These Terms governed by English law; courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.

   • Changes to Terms notified on site.
